In addition to this, to boost up innovation and acknowledge the capabilities and value of global IP along with seizing growth opportunities in the ICTE sector. Moreover, to intensify and create IP awareness, the additional component has also been introduced in the second phase of the SIP-EIT Scheme.

Intending to motivate the filing of International Patents, SIP-EIT Scheme has been brought into existence. Additionally, this scheme also supports the International Patent Protection in Electronics & IT by the Technology Start-Up Companies as well as the Small and Medium Enterprises.

The SIP-EIT Scheme has some additional benefits attached to it which are as follows:-
Intending to avail of the benefits offered under the Support for International Patent Protection in Electronics & Information Technology (SIP-EIT Scheme), the applicants are required to meet the following eligibility criteria:-
1- The applicant should be registered as an MSME unit and the proof of such registration must be furnished.
2- Additionally, the applicant must fulfil the requirement of investments in the equipment as per the MSME Act, 2006 of GOI as applicable or in the machinery equipment.
3- Furthermore, same will be verified based on the MSME registration proof and the audited sheet.
4- In addition to this, to register a business enterprise or a startup in the incubation center, the applicant is required to meet all the requirements of the investment that is needed in the MSME Act, 2006 of GOI as applicable.
To apply for the SIP-EIT Scheme, the applicants are required to provide the documents mentioned in the table given below.

Under the SIP-EIT Scheme, the reimbursement of all the expenses will be in instalments and will be disbursed in the ways mentioned below: –
1- Applications filed through the PCT route
2- Applications filed within 12 months of a patent application
3- Applications that are filed directly in a foreign country post fulfilling the requirement of Section 39 of the Indian Patent Act
Intending to register under the SIP-EIT Scheme, the applicant must fulfill the eligibility criteria.
