Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, has initiated Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana on PM Narendra Modi’s birthday on 17th of September, 2020. Through this scheme, women will be establishing the pillar of their independence by effective utilization of loans received. Women can leap forward in the direction of investing this amount in reshaping and upgrading their businesses with the hope to transform the economic structure in the future course of time.
This multipurpose scheme by Gujarat Government is applicable for both rural & urban women. It is a significant and much-needed step taken by the Gujarat State Government towards the empowerment of women. Under this scheme, a purpose has been set to lend loans of Rs. 1,000 Crore to 10 lakh women of Gujarat.

Till now, the state government has entered into MoUs with 65 Urban Co-operative Banks along with a total of 124 co-operative and 189 other banks for the timely and winning implementation of this Yojana. Under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana, around 44,854 Joint Liability Earnings & Savings Groups have been composed within the geographical boundaries of the state. Consequently, about 4, 48,000 mothers & sisters of the Gujarat state will attain the benefits of this multipurpose Yojana.
