The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana is all about rendering social security to the small as well as marginal farmers in their old age to assist them with the means of livelihood in order to bear their expenses.

Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana

The Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana intends to encourage and develop organic farming practices throughout India, resulting in augmented and enhanced health of the soil. The Participatory Guarantee System under the umbrella of the PGS-India Program will be the principal approach for ensuring the quality of soil under the roof of Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana.

Organic farming works on the principle of sustainable agriculture. It aids to develop and sustain the natural landscape and Agro-System. By circumventing the overexploitation of natural resources, organic farming conserves as well as upgrades soil vitality, leading to maximum economic returns, with a reliable, guarded, and healthful functioning environment.

  • The significant feature brings out its basic objective of fabricating chemical & pesticide-free agricultural products by opting for more eco-friendly as well as low-cost technologies.
  • This scheme is also devised to promote organic farming and increase awareness regarding the same among farmers, rural youths, and traders.
  • The Indian government has kick-started the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana in sync with the objectives of sustainable development, eyeing eradication of hunger, enhancing nutrition, attaining food security, and encouraging sustainable agriculture.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana

Recalling the importance of crop insurance, Indian PM Narendra Modi has started the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana on 18th February 2020. PM Fasal Bima Yojana has served millions of farmers residing within the geographical boundaries of India.

The PM Fasal Bima Yojana strives to reverse the risk essence of farmers and address the grievances of the farmers as they are exposed to agricultural risks and hence require an insurance system.

The Central Government has overhauled the PM Fasal Bima Yojana to ensure more dynamic and practical implementation. The government has conceived leveraging technology in a comprehensive manner to approach the issues concerning timely assessment and payment of claims.

Key Points under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana

  • The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana endeavours to lend income stability to the farmers battling against poverty and challenges of life.

CM Yogi Adityanath on Mission Kisan Kalyan

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji came forward with a farmer-centric initiative, i.e., Mission Kisan Kalyan on 6th of January, 2021. This initiative revolves around the welfare of the farmers along with their upliftment as the government is aiming to double the farmers’ income under Kisan Kalyan Mission initiative.

Most importantly, lakhs of farmers lost hope and committed suicide between the period of 2004 and 2014 as no one was willing to take their stand and take care of them. However, the scenario has observed significant transformation in the last few years. Farmers started utilizing new farm technologies and are on the route to progress.

Also, CM of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath Ji mentioned that Atmahatya se Aamdani’ (from suicide to income) is the motto of the UP government for the enrichment of the lives of the farmers which is being entirely substantiated by numbers of schemes. Under the Mission Kisan Kalyan, various programs are in the list to get organized for the welfare of farmers.
