
Krishi input subsidy scheme has given a garb of protection to our Nation’s farmers. The agriculture sector and farmers of our Nation are prone to massive vulnerabilities when it comes to drought, hail, floods, etc. This agricultural sector plays a vital role in the overall process of economic development of our Nation. The agriculture sector has already made a notable contribution to the economic prosperity of our Nation, and its role in economic development is of vital importance. In other words, the agriculture sector is the backbone of the Indian economy that contributes to the National Income, is a source of food supply, and provide maximum employment opportunities to the rural people.
Considering the importance of the farming sector, central and state governments have been taking massive steps to promote this sector and safeguard its interests. Already farmers were facing multiple risks, coronavirus phase added to the already existing issue prevailing. Keeping this in mind, the Bihar Government has initiated the Krishi input subsidy scheme to provide subsidies against the crops affected due to drought, flood, etc.
The current scheme is an excellent effort from the state Government of Bihar that shall take care of the farmers’ economic condition and improve lives by providing the benefits of the umbrella scheme named Krishi input subsidy scheme. Krishi input subsidy scheme shall do away with farmers’ significant problems in India through multiple possible ways, which we shall discuss below.
The Government of Bihar has launched the Krishi Input subsidy Scheme to benefit the state’s farmers. Under the scheme, those farmers whose crops got affected by rain and hailstorm, or their growth have significantly suffered a lot can apply. The initiative by the Government shall benefit those farmers who fell victim to the situation. Those farmers will be provided a maximum grant of Rs 13,500 per hectare by the Government. Under Krishi Input subsidy Scheme 2020 of the state, areas like Aurangabad, Bhagalpur, Buxar, Gaya, Jehanabad, Kaimur, Muzaffarpur, Patna, East Champaran, Samastipur, and Vaishali are included.
The Government shall provide benefits to the farmers. Rs. 6,800 per hectare for rainfed (unirrigated) crop area, Rs. 13,500 per hectare for irrigated area and Rs. 12,200 per hectare for arable land where sand/silt deposits are more than 3 inches. The scheme is a relief for farmers in the state who had to suffer a lot because of natural calamities. The plan shall make sure that no individual has to suffer the consequences of natural disasters and that our farmers are safe from its effect.
To compensate the farmers whose rabi crops got damaged due to hailstorms, rains, and natural calamities in the month of the year 2020, the Government of Bihar in April month 2020 has decided to give agricultural grants to the farmers. In March, the Bihar government provided another opportunity for the farmers who have not been able to apply under this Krishi input subsidy Scheme previously.
Agriculture Minister said that in March, all those farmers of various Bihar districts who missed out on this scheme could also apply online from May 4th to May 11th on the DBT portal of the Agriculture Department to get grants under this scheme and get compensation for the loss of Rabi crops. Step 1– The applicants need to visit the official DBT agriculture portal of Bihar.
Step 2-The applicant must click on the “Apply Online” button displayed on the portal’s homepage.
Step 3-They need to select the “Agricultural Input Grant (Krishi Input Subsidy)” from the dropdown list of various options.
Step 4-On selecting the Krishi Input Subsidy option, applicants will get navigated to a new page. The applicant needs to enter their registration number and click on the “search” button on the page. Before proceeding, the applicant has to read all the essential instructions given on the same page.
Step 5-In the end, the application form will appear on the screen; the applicant has to fill that form with various details such as name, age, address, aadhaar number, panchayat, category of the farmer, Date of Birth, Father’s name, etc.
Step 6-Then the farmers must fill in details of their land (should be a maximum of 2 hectares), farmer type, and reason for crop damage.
Step 7-Now, the farmers will have to fill in the remaining details, like the description of cultivable land in the space provided, & then the applicant will have to fill the declaration part and click on the “OTP” button.
Step 8-After clicking the “OTP” button, a unique code is received on the farmer’s registered mobile number, and they have to verify the same.
Step 9-Now, the farmers will have to select the self-declaration form and check whether they have uploaded all the necessary documents.
Step 10-Once the farmer has entered all necessary details; they can apply by clicking on the “Submit” button.
Step 11-After submission, the application number or reference number is sent as SMS to the applicants’ registered mobile number for future references.
On successfully submitting the applications, all the applications will go forward to the Agriculture Coordinator. The Agriculture Coordinator is supposed to verify all the details within 20 days and accept the application or reject it with a genuine reason. The approved application approved will then be forwarded to the concerned Agriculture officer. The agricultural officer will take a farmer’s photograph with the affected land and upload it after verification.
